The Justice Ministry added Golos to the register of “undesirable organizations.” The movement ceased operations a year ago

The agency published the updated list on its website.

“There previously existed the all-Russian public movement for the protection of voters’ rights Golos. It was designated a ‘foreign agent,’ which means the Justice Ministry recognizes it as a Russian association. It is still listed in the register of Russian foreign-agent entities, even though it ceased operations a year ago,” former Golos co-chair Stanislav Andreychuk said.

He noted that the Justice Ministry added an “international movement” with the same name to the register of “undesirable” organizations, the existence of which Andreychuk and his former colleagues know nothing about.

Also added to the list were the American “Arctic Center at the University of Northern Iowa,” the “Swiss Academic Society for East European Studies,” the American “Child Evangelism Fellowship,” and the Finnish “Karelian Educational Society.”
