❗️The information resource StopRussianRecruiters.org, dedicated to the Russian Federation’s criminal practice of recruiting foreigners for the war against Ukraine, is beginning to publish profiles of individuals involved in recruiting citizens of third countries into the Russian occupation army.

The Recruiters section publishes profiles of agents and intermediaries whose connection to the recruitment of mercenaries for service in the armed forces of the Russian Federation is indicated by information from open sources. In particular, this refers to cases where people are lured to Russia under the pretext of civilian work, misled about the real conditions of service, or subjected to fraudulent schemes during recruitment. Even those who knowingly agree to serve often become victims of deception: they do not receive the promised payments, or recruiters swindle money out of them. The victims of such schemes are people from poor countries around the world, including the African continent.

According to the personal data available to us, losses among foreign mercenaries in the Russian army have already exceeded 5,000 people. Several hundred foreigners managed to survive and end up in captivity; they are citizens of 48 countries around the world. The largest numbers of prisoners of war are citizens of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus.

The international community and media in different countries around the world are paying increasing attention to the problem of Russians recruiting “cannon fodder” for their army. Some countries have even managed to stop or significantly reduce the scale of sending their citizens into someone else’s war.

☝️StopRussianRecruiters.org collects, systematizes, and publishes information already available in open sources in order to warn potential victims, draw the international community’s attention to this problem, and make such information more accessible. The project also calls on victims, their relatives, and witnesses to report cases of recruitment. All submissions are handled confidentially.
