War through the eyes of Meduza readers. Today we are publishing a letter from an anonymous reader

How sad that among the influence groups running things in Ukraine, there isn’t a single one I could call socially close to me. And now today’s conflict. Syrskyi, with his distinctly Soviet managerial vibes, in one corner of the ring, and the young author of technical solutions Fedorov, who has gathered all sorts of fascists around him, like Sternenko, in the other. You see? Somehow we can’t do without Sovoks and without fascists here; one of the two absolutely has to be there. Better yet, in one package.

And I look at the wonderful people with cardboard signs, among whom there are men too, and I understand that there are still people with exemptions in this country, they haven’t died out. That it’s my problem that by the fifth year of the war I still hadn’t managed to wrangle one for myself [...].

I don’t want to live with the dream that Fedorov kills another million Russians with drones, and then... Don’t get me wrong. It’s not because I somehow especially don’t feel indifferent toward Russians. It’s because that won’t change anything. The idea that you can finally bomb someone into the ground and then prosperity will come is complete bullshit, which for some reason many people on both sides still believe by inertia.

It’s simply time to end the war, time to end the war, time to end the war. How? Any way at all, really. Who gives a damn. If it matters to you how it ends, maybe you’re not paying enough of the price for its continuation. (Or you’ve already overpaid so much that you’re going off the rails, like a bad poker player).

And then I [see] wonderful people with cardboard signs who came out for a man who once was not embarrassed to say out loud that he feels like a god in his position, and I understand that no. There will be no peaceful rishennya. This people cannot be defeated. And the same goes for the other side. Not to mention the cash flows that have started spinning around weapons production [...].

A War Letter Without a Side

An anonymous reader wants the war ended by any means and trusts nobody.

The choice of camps replaced an answer again.
