Natalya Kasperskaya, co-founder of Kaspersky Lab and president of the InfoWatch group of companies, held a meeting in late April with officers from the FSB’s Second Service, which is responsible for internet blockings in Russia.
Sources told The Bell that after this meeting she came to the conclusion: “They don’t understand anything there at all about the web, the internet, or technology.” The Bell calls Natalya Kasperskaya someone who “has long enjoyed” Vladimir Putin’s favor, but, as one of the outlet’s sources in the IT industry said, when it comes to the FSB, “she can’t compete in authority.”
