The center of Moscow on Victory Day was completely sealed off several hours before the parade began. It remained empty afterward as well. Media facades and screens installed on city streets showed a rebroadcast of the parade and a “virtual ‘Immortal Regiment’” with portraits of participants in the Great Patriotic War against the backdrop of Red Square.
Take a look at what the emptied-out Moscow looks like in photographs by Alexander Gronsky published by the independent journalists’ cooperative Bereg.

A Holiday for Screens and Empty Streets
Central Moscow was sealed before the parade and left empty after it.
