A Russian Shahed hit the home of an adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister

Serhii (Flash) Beskrestnov, an adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister and a specialist in military radio technologies, said the Russian army tried to kill him by attacking his home with drones.

According to Beskrestnov, one of four Shaheds launched by the Russian military crashed into the wall of his house. “I no longer have a home. I was hit, but the main thing is that by some miracle I’m alive. I was mentally prepared for events to unfold this way, and it won’t stop me,” Beskrestnov wrote.

In early January 2026, the new defense minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, appointed Beskrestnov as an adviser on technology-related areas. Since the start of the war in 2022, Beskrestnov has been working at the front in the fields of radio communications, electronic warfare systems, and reconnaissance.
