EU foreign policy chief rejects Gerhard Schroeder as a negotiator with Russia

Kallas also answered a question about whether the EU should prepare for negotiations with Russia on how to shape Europe’s future security architecture.

The meeting will take place at the end of May.

Kallas stressed that the European Union’s security problem is that “Russia is constantly attacking its neighbors, and the question is how we can actually prevent this.”

🔵On May 9, speaking about possible negotiations with Europe, Putin said that Gerhard Schroeder could be the “preferred” negotiator. At the same time, he allowed for the possibility of dialogue with another leader who “has not said nasty things about us.”
