Ukrainian Foreign Ministry: Ukrainian drones flew into Latvia because of Russian electronic warfare systems

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha wrote this on X:

Investigations proved that these [“drone incidents”] were the result of Russian electronic warfare systems deliberately diverting Ukrainian drones away from their targets in Russia.”

Sybiha made this statement shortly before the Latvian prime minister announced her decision to dismiss Defense Minister Andris Spruds after drones entered the country’s airspace and were not shot down.

I confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to work together with the Baltic states and Finland to prevent such incidents, including with the direct involvement of our specialists,

Sybiha added.

🔵In the early morning of May 7, several drones entered Latvian airspace from Russia; two of them crashed, including one on the grounds of an oil storage facility.
