Vladimir was left with no choice: the prison colony administration forcibly sent a group of prisoners to the Russian Armed Forces’ 114th Brigade. This is how people were recruited into the Russian army on the territory of the so-called “L/DNR.” Here is Sukhachev’s account:

✔️ I was AWOL for 7 months, but I was detained and returned to the brigade.

✔️ On the way to the positions there were many dead and wounded — no one was taking them away.

✔️ Whenever there was a spare minute, I talked with the wounded, but I could not help them in any way.

✔️ We were surrounded and understood that no one would save us.

✔️ The commander with the call sign “Kupol” threatened to shoot anyone who tried to surrender.
