Russia has struck the Kyiv region for the second time this week. Three people were killed, including a child

In the Kyiv region, on the night of August 8, the village of Pukhivka in Brovary district came under a Russian strike, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) reported. A private residential house burned down. Three people were killed, including a child. Three people were injured.

Another fire in the same village broke out on the grounds of an industrial enterprise. A warehouse caught fire there. The SES did not specify what kind of enterprise it was.

In Kyiv, two districts came under attack. In Holosiivskyi district, garages and a non-residential building caught fire. In Obolonskyi district, a fire broke out on the grounds of an enterprise. Four people were injured, three of them were taken to hospitals. One person was killed, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

During the night, the Russian Armed Forces struck Ukraine with missiles and drones, the command of the Ukrainian Air Force said. In total, Russian forces launched six missiles and 151 drones of various types. Ukrainian air defenses shot down 135 drones. No downed missiles were reported.

This was the second Russian attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region this week. Before that, Russian forces carried out a massive strike on August 5. Marketplaces and logistics centers came under attack. Seventeen people were killed.
