Suppose you are applying for an international passport. Should you list your workplaces if some of them were “undesirable” or “extremist” organizations? The short answer: it all depends on when you worked there and whether you were officially employed.

If you officially worked in Russia, the Russian authorities know about it anyway: taxes were paid from your income, and these records are also in your employment book. Such employment was possible BEFORE the organization received its toxic status; AFTER that, nobody worked with it and could not, because once its activities are banned, all legal entities in the Russian Federation are liquidated.

If you continued cooperating with the organization unofficially (for example, if it opened a legal entity abroad), the situation is more complicated. We cannot give direct advice, but it is worth proceeding from the assumption that the Russian authorities will have no way of learning about the fact of cooperation unless you tell them about it yourself.

I would not disclose information about cooperation with toxic organizations, because situations vary: at first a person does not travel to Russia, and then something happens and they need to go. Better not to take the risk.

And if a person lies and lists something that does not match the official information the Russian authorities have, that may result in a refusal to issue an international passport. But once again: the Russian authorities can only have data about your official employment in the Russian Federation.
