‘Merry Milkman’ Justas Walker said that he and his family are about to be expelled from Russia

American farmer Justas Walker (known as the “Merry Milkman”), who lives on his farm in Altai Krai, said that the Russian authorities are planning to expel his family from the country. According to him, he received a call and was told that they plan to revoke his residence permit.

“This is just a shock for us, we are in a state of shock. We will go on Monday, at 10 a.m., [to find out] what exactly is going on, we will see the order. For now we are trying to find out what options we may have. It seems there is an option to appeal. But if what they are telling us is confirmed, that this is the revocation of the residence permit, that this is expulsion, we will have only a few days for the family to leave,” Walker said.

He added that his family invested almost all of its savings in its own farm. If they are expelled from Russia, they will need 900,000 rubles, and he has only 400,000.

American Justas Walker first came to Russia with his parents when he was 11 years old. In 2000, when his parents returned to the United States, Walker came back to Russia. A few years later, he took up farming. He became known in Russia in 2014 after a segment on the program Vesti devoted to the ban on imports of foreign food products into Russia. At the time, Walker, laughing, told reporters: “Why, why, because there won’t be your Italian cheese.”

As Mediazona notes, in recent years the farmer has publicly spoken out against gold mining in Altai and criticized the local authorities for pressuring agricultural producers.
