The first fine in the Moscow region has been issued over hogweed, which was found with the help of AI

In the Moscow region, a fine has been imposed for the first time because of hogweed on a plot that was detected using a drone and artificial intelligence, the region’s Agriculture Ministry reported.

A fine of 150,000 rubles was issued to a company, the owner of a land plot in the Ruza municipal district.

Since the beginning of March, owners and users of land plots across Russia have been required to get rid of dangerous plants, including Sosnowsky’s hogweed. Violators can not only be fined, but also stripped of their rights to the land plot.
