Officials in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug to get paid leave to see relatives off to the front

Officials and employees of state institutions in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug will get the right to paid leave to see off relatives heading to the front to fight in Ukraine, Verstka noticed.

This benefit appeared in the “family events” section of the region’s “Demographic Standard” draft published on May 7, alongside weddings and the birth of children. Similarly, civil servants will also be able to take leave in order to meet close relatives returning from the front.

As follows from the document, this benefit is initially planned to apply to civil servants and employees of state institutions. Its stated goal is “to ensure the creation of conditions for the effective balancing of officials’ work and family responsibilities.”

The document is advisory in nature, and the region’s governor Ruslan Kukharuk proposes first expanding it to all municipal organizations in Yugra, and then to the district’s “large enterprises.”

That is, in addition to officials, it could first apply to all public-sector employees in KhMAO, including doctors and teachers working in municipal institutions, and then to employees of the largest companies operating in the district — these include, for example, structures of Rosneft, Gazprom, and Surgutneftegaz.

💜Relatives of killed or wounded fighters are entitled to 14 days of leave. In both cases, it is unpaid by employers. Leave for seeing “front-line fighters” off and welcoming them back is not formally regulated at the legislative level.
