The management of Eksmo publishing house became persons of interest in a case on creating an extremist organization

This was reported by Kommersant, citing a source close to the investigation.

Following the interrogations, the publication’s source noted, law enforcement officers will decide which members of Eksmo’s management will remain witnesses and which will be formally charged.

A preventive measure for the accused will be chosen at Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky Court on April 22-23.

As part of the case, Eksmo head Yevgeny Kapyev, financial director Svetlana Tseplyakova, distribution director Anatoly Norovyatkin, and Yulia Sokolovskaya, deputy director for commercial activities at Pervaya Redaktsiya, were taken to the Investigative Committee’s Moscow department for investigative actions.

The actions were formalized as urgent investigative measures.

In total, Kommersant’s sources say, around ten people are involved in the case, three of whom are under house arrest: Dmitry Protopopov, one of the heads of the publishing houses Individuum and Popcorn Books; Pavel Ivanov, former sales director at Individuum; and warehouse manager Artyom Vakhlyaev.
