Singer Linda detained for questioning in Moscow in fraud case

This was reported by REN TV, citing a source.

According to the TV channel’s source, Linda (Svetlana Geiman) used songs in whose creation she took part, but the rights to which belong to producer Maxim Fadeev. Along with the singer, her director Mikhail Kuvshinov was brought in for questioning.

REN TV’s source claims that Darya Shamova, the CEO of the company Profit, was also involved together with Linda in fraud involving the rights (she is also being questioned). Searches are being conducted at this company’s office.

Searches are also taking place at the office of the company Profit. The company’s CEO Andrei Cherkasov has been under house arrest since February; before that, he was being held in pretrial detention. He owned the music publishing house Dzhem, which was declared bankrupt in July.

🔵In November 2025, Fadeev wrote on social media that because of Cherkasov forging signatures and manipulating documents in the 1990s, he lost the rights to Linda’s music.

🔵“For 30 years I received no royalties for my music, which I wrote for Linda. In this connection, one can conclude that someone had been robbing me throughout those 30 years,” Fadeev wrote.

🔵Linda herself, in an interview with Ksenia Sobchak, claimed that Maxim Fadeev tried to use Cherkasov’s arrest to “take back what has long belonged to them.”

🔵According to the singer, the Linda project was financed by her father, Lev Geiman, while Fadeev was a hired musician and arranger, but because of the 1998 crisis the financing was reduced and the producer lost interest in the project.

Song Rights End Up at the Station

The singer and her director were questioned over song rights.

The music reached investigators before the rights reached clarity.
