“We work in Russia under difficult conditions.” Yabloko leader Nikolai Rybakov spoke at the Supreme Court
Rybakov asked that Rodina’s lawsuit be dismissed in full. He noted that Yabloko had not violated the law and would continue to defend its political position. According to him, the lawsuit shows distrust in state bodies and the system, as well as in their ability to hold competitive elections.
We work in Russia under difficult conditions, given our
political position. However, we do not hide this position. This is our vision of the country’s interests and its future. For us, it is a matter of principle to remain and work in the country, to maintain ties with the people who live here and for whom we do what we do. We will do everything to ensure that Russia becomes a prosperous democratic state,
the party leader said.
Rybakov also noted that the party does not pay for videos that social media users make in support of the party.
Young people who make videos in our support, and who came to the Supreme Court today, we do not pay them anything. They support us simply because they want to live in Russia and want not to be killed. I don’t know how to explain this to the plaintiffs,
he added.
