Gelendzhik and Novorossiysk left without power amid threat of drone strikes


As 93.ru reports, during the day residents of Gelendzhik began complaining about power outages across the city. Since early morning, a warning about the danger of Ukrainian drone attacks has been in effect in the city, sirens have been going off periodically, and the beaches are closed.


There is also no electricity in nearby villages and in Novorossiysk. In Krasnodar, more than 70 traffic lights are not working because of an emergency power outage.


Gelendzhik’s municipal control center said the авария happened “due to the automated load-shedding system being triggered at a higher-level grid organization.” The Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters claims that power supply will be restored within the next two hours.
