War Through the Eyes of Meduza Readers. Today We Are Publishing a Letter From Andrei in the Far East

The war is far away from us, and everyone around pretends as if nothing has changed.

It has changed: our future has been stolen from us. The worst thing is that it was stolen from my children. As an adult, I even like this rock bottom in the economy, because it will force more and more people to think: what the fuck was it even for? There are no longer any Zs on profile pictures or cars, and that's encouraging. Of those with whom it's possible to talk about these things, I no longer ask: do you remember what it was like before Crimea? Because before 2014, everything really was many times better. They already know the answers themselves, at least inside. Everyone is tired of the war, even the most deranged patriots.

But I feel bad for my children, because they'll be cleaning up this shit for decades. For them it's already almost like a fairy tale: flying anywhere with a Russian passport, not looking at grocery prices, studying abroad, and so on. We had all that; they won't have that for a long time.
