Russians are not losing interest in foreign TV series despite blocks and censorship

As writes Kommersant, the share of interest in U.S. productions in April reached a record 34%, according to the Kinopoisk Pro Index rating, which is linked to the release of new installments of such major titles as The Boys, Euphoria, and Invincible.

The index analyzes user queries not only on the official platforms of online cinemas, but also in search engines and on video hosting sites. The crackdown on VPNs and on “undesirable” scenes is not reducing the audience’s motivation to keep up with fresh Western sequels, but most of these titles are likely still being watched on pirate sites rather than on legal platforms with quality service.
