Names revealed of Eksmo employees taken in for questioning in the case over “distribution of LGBT literature”
After searches of Eksmo’s management in the case over “distribution of LGBT literature,” the publishing house’s CEO Yevgeny Kapyev, financial director Svetlana Tseplyayeva, distribution director Anatoly Norovyatkin, and Yulia Sokolovskaya, deputy director for commercial operations at “Editorial Office No. 1,” were taken to the Investigative Committee for questioning. This is stated in a letter sent to Eksmo employees, which Verstka has obtained.
The letter does not mention Eksmo top manager Alexandra Shipetina, whose detention had earlier been reported by the media. It also does not specify the status of the employees taken in for questioning.
Norovyatkin had previously been questioned in the criminal case over “LGBT propaganda” in May 2025; at the time, he was released as a witness.
The positions of those detained were earlier named by Ekaterina Kozhanova, director of strategic communications at Eksmo-AST. At the same time, she mentioned that the publishing house’s communications director had been detained, a person not mentioned in the letter sent to employees.
🟪Today’s detentions are connected to the “publishers’ case”: in May 2025, security forces carried out mass searches of employees of Eksmo, Popcorn Books, and Individuum in an “extremism” case over the distribution of the books “Summer in a Pioneer Tie” and “What the Swallow Is Silent About.”
