The Supreme Court deleted 20 years of crime statistics in Russia

The Judicial Department under Russia’s Supreme Court has deleted all judicial statistics from its website, Verstka noticed.

By April 20, the department was supposed to publish data for 2025, but violated its own regulations and did not publish them, Sever Realii noted. Today, all statistics for previous years that had previously been available via a direct link turned out to have been deleted. They were still on the site yesterday.

When trying to open the statistics directly from the site’s main page, a message appears saying that “the information is temporarily unavailable.”

The day before, Verstka sent a request to the Judicial Department asking whether statistics for all of 2025 would be published. The press service has not yet responded.

Russian journalists and human rights defenders actively used the Judicial Department’s statistics. They contained data on courts’ consideration of criminal, administrative, civil cases, and cases concerning administrative offenses.
