The military convinced Putin that by autumn they will seize all of Donbas. After that, Russia is preparing to put forward new territorial claims, Financial Times writes, citing several sources, including some close to the Kremlin, as well as assessments by Ukrainian intelligence.

Deputy head of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Main Intelligence Directorate Vadym Skibitsky believes that if it succeeds in Donbas, Russia may demand the entire territory of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

At the same time, the publication’s sources who took part in unofficial talks on ending the war believe that Putin’s “true ambitions” probably still consist of establishing control over most of Ukraine, including Kyiv and Odesa.
