So, officially, Peskov has returned to the old position voiced by Putin on June 14, 2024: a full withdrawal from FOUR regions, and only then negotiations. Note: not peace, but negotiations.

For you and me, friends, this is nothing new. More than that, their position has ALWAYS been about the four regions. See Lavrov’s February speech about "Novorossiya." Donbas was purely a ploy for Trump.

And now, since Trump has completely stopped pressuring Russia and eased sanctions, they do not even need ploys anymore, they can flat-out talk about the four regions.

This does not change the realities of the war in any way. Putin is not going to stop and never was going to stop. He can only be stopped on the battlefield.
