Bastrykin ordered a review of books by writer Grigory Oster, author of the “Bad Advice” series — a collection of ironic poems in which the author describes situations involving children and gives them joking recommendations.

“The content of children’s literature was discussed separately: works by Grigory Oster were cited as a negative example, as they contain, in the participants’ view, attitudes that are questionable from a pedagogical standpoint,” the agency’s statement says about a meeting of the Investigative Committee of Russia’s Coordination Council on providing assistance to children affected by humanitarian disasters, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and armed conflicts.

They also discussed the need for blocking measures to protect children, citing the Chinese model as an example.

“The need was noted to create technical barriers to block dangerous content, to increase the responsibility of telecom operators and platforms for its dissemination, and attention was also drawn to China’s experience in developing a system for controlling algorithms to track and restrict such materials. As one of the key measures to counter the criminalization of the teenage environment, it was proposed to identify minors at the stage of preparing crimes,” the press release says.
