Kyiv Proposed Renaming Part of Donbas “Donnyland”
As The New York Times reported, Ukrainian negotiators proposed turning the part of Donbas that remains under Kyiv’s control into “Donnyland” in honor of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The journalists noted that four people connected to the course of the negotiations confirmed this information to them on condition of anonymity. It is claimed that a Ukrainian negotiator initially proposed the initiative as a joke, in order to persuade the U.S. president’s administration to increase pressure on Russia.
It is claimed that the Ukrainian negotiator also developed symbols for “Donnyland”: a green-and-gold flag and an anthem, for which he used ChatGPT. At the same time, it is noted that it is unknown whether representatives of the American side saw them.
