In 2025, the authorities spent a record 819 million rubles on recruiting children into Yunarmiya

State spending on military-patriotic events aimed at recruiting children into the Yunarmiya movement reached a five-year record, Verstka found after analyzing the draft law on the execution of the 2025 federal budget.

Actual spending for these purposes in 2025 amounted to 818.9 million rubles. This is three times more than in 2024 (270 million rubles). In 2023, spending under this line was also 270 million rubles, in 2022 it was 302.2 million rubles, and in 2021 it was 197.7 million.

In addition to these expenditures, Yunarmiya also received subsidies from the Defense Ministry for its activities during those same years. These ranged from 143 million to 257 million rubles annually.

🩵Yunarmiya is engaged in the so-called “patriotic upbringing” of children. If before the war in Ukraine it was reported that the movement had more than 1 million members, now the organization’s website says “more than 2 million people.”

🩵The movement takes part in propaganda school events (“Lessons of Courage”) and runs specialized sessions at children’s camps. There, for example, they teach a “Young Fighter Course” and classes in naval, tourism, and aviation training.
