Drone Operators’ “Dronnitsa” Gathering in Veliky Novgorod Postponed Over Threat of a Ukrainian Attack

The “Dronnitsa” drone operators’ gathering in Veliky Novgorod was postponed because of the threat of a Ukrainian attack

The event’s organizers said this in the gathering’s channel. It had been scheduled for August 29–30.

“The KCPN Analytical Center (the Coordination Center for Aid to Novorossiya — editor’s note) received precise and reliable information about the enemy’s plans to strike the Gathering at the time it is held. We held a number of meetings with the regional leadership, the military, and special services on issues related to the safety of the gathering’s participants. Not about hypothetical possibilities, but about the real scenarios the enemy is preparing against us, and our possible countermeasures,” they noted.

The organizers added that they are not canceling the gathering, but postponing it.

“Given the combined nature of the planned operation, using both new ballistic capabilities and the same old nasty bio-drone terrorists, protecting the participants of ‘Dronnitsa’ would require deploying large air-defense and special-service forces, temporarily leaving facilities and enterprises in the Novgorod and neighboring regions exposed. We decided that exposing factories and bases for the sake of our own safety would be wrong right now, while holding the event under such risks would be too reckless,” the statement says.
