Once, in one of his addresses, Volodymyr Zelensky quoted Giorgia Meloni, who said the following phrase:

"I do not want disappointed people in Ukraine to burn portraits of European and American leaders."

You know, I thought that no one in Ukraine would burn portraits. People in Ukraine, though disappointed and mutilated by war, have the dignity and discernment to understand who their real enemy is and who wants to erase them from the face of the earth.

Disappointed people in Ukraine will not burn their portraits. They will simply chew them up, swallow them, digest them. Or spit them out.

And their portraits, instead of being in the pantheon of Ukraine's allies in a worthy place next to Ukrainian heroes, will go into the ground as compost and simply be lost in history.

Like those who talked too much and did too little.

Like those who closed their eyes and pretended this was not their war.

Like those who looked for excuses in the idea that Ukraine is not ideal and that it is all not so clear-cut.

Like those who invented the idea that there is supposedly some way to stop Putin through appeasement.

There is no such way. It is fiction. It is a delusion.

It is simply a nonexistent reality that weak people incapable of looking the truth in the eye invent for themselves so they can bail out and avoid responsibility.

Putin does not need a pretext. Ukraine did not strike the parade and did not carry out attacks during the ceasefire, and Putin himself acknowledged this.

Did that somehow affect the launch of 1428 drones and 56 missiles in 24 hours?

He does this not in response to something. He does this because of an obsessive idea to erase an entire people, whom he does not even consider a people.

And going forward he will either erase Ukraine with bombs and missiles. Or, in the event of capitulation, he will subject people to filtration and assimilation, and there will be no Ukrainians left, everything will be like in the occupied territories: no language, no passport, no identity. If he is not stopped.

Ukraine is strong. Ukraine is stronger than Putin thought and thinks. Ukraine is stronger than the West thought on the eve of the invasion in February 2022. Ukraine is stronger than Trump thought in the Oval Office in February 2025. Ukraine is stronger than perhaps even Ukrainians themselves think.

But it is not only about strength, it is about the individual tragedy of everyone who was killed in their sleep by a Russian missile. About this endless grief over the murder of the 12-year-old girl whom they are pulling from the rubble in video 5.

There is too much pain to bear this alone. And Ukraine bears all of this alone, no matter what anyone says. For more than four years already.

It should not be this way, and it is not about the world order, not about international law, not about all those rules humanity came up with after World War II to hold this fragile peace together. All of that is correct, but in fact secondary and too complicated a framework for many. That is not the main thing Ukraine is fighting for.

It is about the simple principle that not a single piece of scum should be allowed to kill others on its own whim.

That is what Ukraine is really fighting for. That is why it cannot simply give up Donbas and hope for Putin's mercy. And that is why all these children are dying. Not because of Donbas, for fuck's sake.

And if Ukraine lays down its arms, it will mean only one thing: killing is allowed. And then the next victim could be anyone.

As of now, it is known of 7 dead, but these are only those who have been pulled out from under the rubble. There may be up to 20 more people there.
