On May 12, 2026, in the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops committed another savage crime: they decapitated two fallen Ukrainian defenders.

While carrying out a combat mission, fighters of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment encountered a Russian sabotage group. Refusing to surrender, the Ukrainian servicemen engaged superior enemy forces in battle. After they ran out of ammunition, they continued resisting in hand-to-hand combat and were killed.

After that, the commander of the Russian group ordered the heads of the dead men to be cut off and displayed by the roadside as a demonstration. Russian soldiers carried out the order without hesitation. The occupiers' conversations were recorded in a radio intercept. The crime was confirmed by the intelligence unit of the 225th Separate Assault Regiment and by other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces positioned on this section of the front.
