Mash published Olga Vasilyeva’s “letter of repentance” (she and her husband Dmitry Nazarov left Russia because of the war). The actress called it fake

“Today my husband, Dmitry Nazarov, wants something simple and natural: to return home. To live and work in Moscow. To continue serving his profession and his country as he has done all his life,” the letter supposedly written on behalf of actress Olga Vasilyeva, which the Telegram channel Mash published, said.

Mash’s editors say they contacted Vasilyeva for comment, but she advised the Telegram channel to “look for income” somewhere else.

In a comment to the TV channel Dozhd, Vasilyeva called Mash’s publication “fake.” When Agency asked a follow-up question whether it was true that neither she, nor her husband, nor their representatives had written such a letter to the State Duma, she replied: “Yes.”

Meanwhile, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin commented on Mash’s publication. He said the letter had not yet been received by the State Duma and he had not seen it. At the same time, the speaker added that citizens who left the country and “insulted our defenders,” harmed the state, and financed the armed forces of Ukraine would face legal proceedings upon returning to the Russian Federation.
