A Russian activist faces deportation from Germany even though authorities are still considering his asylum application

This was reported by the Anti-War Committee of Russia, citing anti-war activist Alexander Rudnev himself.

According to Rudnev, migration authorities in Burg bei Magdeburg handed him an order to leave the country. At the same time, Germany’s Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is currently considering Rudnev’s repeat application for asylum on political grounds.

On May 5, Rudnev underwent a personal interview at BAMF, where he presented new facts about his case. Two days later, the activist came to the agency to extend his temporary residence document, but instead of an extension he was handed an order to leave Germany.

Rudnev’s lawyer and the activist himself believe that the actions of the migration agency violate the law, the Anti-War Committee of Russia writes.
