Zelensky says Ukraine is ‘recording attempts’ by Russia to ‘draw’ Belarus even deeper into the war against Ukraine
Zelensky said Ukraine is ‘recording attempts’ by Russia to ‘draw’ Belarus even deeper into the war against Ukraine
The president of Ukraine reported this on his social media.
“We know that there have been additional contacts between the Russians and Alexander Lukashenko, the purpose of which is to persuade him to join Russia’s new aggressive operations. In particular, Russia is considering plans for operations in the direction south and north from the territory of Belarus, either against the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction in Ukraine or against one of the NATO countries, specifically from the territory of Belarus,” Volodymyr Zelensky noted.
He also added that “specialists from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry obtained documents indicating that the Russians are preparing new missile and drone strikes on Ukraine, in particular, as they state, on ‘decision-making centers.’”
“Among them are, in particular, almost two dozen political centers and military facilities. Of course, we have taken note of this information,” Zelensky emphasized.
