Deputy director general of Patriot Park sent to a pretrial detention center; he is accused of taking a bribe of 18 million rubles

Military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee are investigating a criminal case against Vitaly Melimuk, deputy director general of the Federal Autonomous Institution “Central Patriot Park” of the Defense Ministry.

He is accused of taking a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code). Investigators believe that in April Melimuk received a bribe of 18 million rubles from the general director of Hermes LLC in exchange for assistance in concluding contracts and “general patronage.”

In December 2025, Hermes signed contracts to service buildings and adjacent grounds at Patriot Park in the Moscow region and the park’s branch in Kronstadt. The value of the deal exceeded 1.4 billion rubles, the Investigative Committee reports.

🔵On April 10, former Russian deputy defense minister Pavel Popov was sentenced to 19 years in a high-security penal colony in a corruption case connected with Patriot Park.
