Finland denied asylum to a Russian man who donated to FBK and took part in protests

A court in Finland rejected Valentin Sergienko’s appeal against a decision by the migration service that denied the man and his family political asylum.

Sergienko left Russia with his parents in September 2022, requested asylum in Germany, but their case was later transferred to Finland.

Now the Sergienko family will be forced to leave Finland; otherwise, they face forced deportation.

🩵Earlier, Verstka reported on how Russians are denied asylum in the US and the EU, and why they are deported back to their homeland.

At least four people deported in 2025 were arrested, Verstka found out. Two of them were deported from the US, and two from EU countries.
