Authorities will tighten control over Russians’ travel. Data on actual movements will be entered into a database accessible to security forces half an hour after the trip ends

A new draft order from the Transport Ministry will require carriers to submit not only scheduled but also actual information about Russians’ trips.

For planes and trains, the data will have to be entered into the database within 15 minutes after a passenger arrives at the final destination; for road, sea, and river transport, within 30 minutes.

Each trip will be assigned a unique identifier linking all actions of a specific passenger, from booking and buying a ticket to boarding and disembarking. For air travel, information about connections and baggage will also be transmitted to the database.
