Putin will visit China after Trump, the Kremlin said. The trip is scheduled for May 19-20 and will be tied to the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Russian-Chinese Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.


“Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will discuss current issues in bilateral relations, ways to further deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, and exchange views on the main international and regional problems,” the statement says.


As a result of the talks, the signing of a top-level statement and a number of bilateral intergovernmental, interagency, and other documents is planned.


The last time Vladimir Putin was in China was in August-September 2025.
