The Supreme Court has submitted to the State Duma a bill to reduce prison terms for the acquisition and storage of drugs in large and especially large quantities — the document has been published in the Duma’s electronic database.
The authors of the amendments propose reducing the maximum prison term to 5 years for large quantities and to 10 years for especially large quantities, and also removing the lower sentencing threshold (currently the penalty is from 3 to 5 years and from 10 to 15 years respectively).
