Putin simplified access to Russian citizenship for residents of Transnistria

Adult foreign citizens or stateless persons who, on the day the decree enters into force, are permanently residing in the unrecognized Transnistria have been granted the right to obtain Russian citizenship through a simplified procedure.

According to the decree, this decision was made "for the purpose of protecting the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, guided by the universally recognized principles and norms of international law."
