Nadezhdin intends to suspend his election campaign
The politician said this on The Breakfast Show.
Boris Nadezhdin said that “theoretically” he can still collect signatures for his nomination for another ten days, until the court’s decision on the fine under the article on displaying “extremist symbols” enters into force.
“But in practice, when I was detained, my штаб deleted the chat with signature collectors and headquarters managers for safety reasons, and afterward people aren’t really coming back, because they’re simply afraid. Well, if they arrested the candidate they were working for, then people have well-founded doubts that this is a safe thing to do. So in the near future I will make a decision, probably, to suspend the election campaign. Because it is becoming dangerous for those who take part in it. Unfortunately, that is the reality,” he noted.
🔵On July 17, Nadezhdin was fined one thousand rubles in a case about displaying “extremist symbols.” The reason for the prosecution of the politician was a link on the politician’s YouTube channel to Elvira Vikhareva’s video “Candidate Against Putin 2024.” It showed a photo of Alexei Navalny for ten seconds.
