Putin will visit China after Trump

The Kremlin reports that the trip on May 19-20, timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Russian-Chinese Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, will take place on May 19-20.

"Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping will discuss current issues in bilateral relations, ways to further deepen the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China, and exchange views on the main international and regional problems," the statement says.

Following the talks, the signing of a statement at the highest level and a number of bilateral intergovernmental, interagency, and other documents is planned.

The last time Vladimir Putin was in China was in August-September 2025.

🔵Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that following his meeting with Xi Jinping, China had agreed to buy American oil and invest "hundreds of billions" of dollars in the US economy.
