Civilian hospitals in Russia are being handed over for participants in the “special military operation.” Military hospitals cannot cope with the flow of wounded

🔵For participants in the war, new medical centers are being built, buildings belonging to the Health Ministry are being transferred, and civilian medical institutions are being repurposed, for example former maternity hospitals and women’s clinics.

But there is still not enough space: military personnel are being placed in regular inpatient wards together with civilian patients.

🔵 Against the backdrop of a shortage of medical workers, civilian patients sometimes have to wait longer for help: since 2023, participants in the war must be served out of turn.

💬 A resident of Omsk said that her mother, after several operations and a severe purulent infection, cannot get into a hospital ward. “No beds! SVO guys... You understand,” that is how, according to her, the department head explained the situation.
