“The fuel oil will remain anyway, and it will poison people in an imperceptible way”

In April, Ukraine launched several massive drone attacks on Tuapse, which led to major fires at an oil storage facility at the marine terminal and at the oil refinery.

As a result, a large amount of oil and petroleum products ended up in the Tuapse River and in the Black Sea.

The authorities are briskly reporting that the consequences have been eliminated, concealing the real level of pollution and claiming that by June 1 Tuapse will be ready to receive tourists.

Verstka's sources in the authorities, environmentalists, and volunteers involved in cleaning up the pollution are sure that this is not the case. Many beaches remain untouched after the spill, and petroleum products are still floating in the sea, drifting southward along the coast.
