FBK asked the prosecutor’s office to investigate Tatarstan head Minnikhanov and urged the EU to impose sanctions on him

The Anti-Corruption Foundation sent a complaint to the prosecutor’s office demanding an investigation into the head of Tatarstan and member of the Supreme Council of United Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov, for violating the law that prohibits officials from engaging in commercial activity.

According to the investigators, the hotel and development empire Luciano, formally owned by Minnikhanov’s wife Gulsina, is in fact run by the head of the republic himself.

The investigators also found that Minnikhanov regularly flies on a private Falcon 8X business jet worth about 3 billion rubles, and that an apartment in Dubai worth nearly 100 million rubles is registered in his wife’s name.

FBK also called on the European Union to add the United Russia politician to the sanctions list.
