In his Telegram channel, Dmitry Milyaev urged the administration of the city of Bolokhovo not to take the situation "to the point of absurdity," "not to scare the child for her creative impulse, but to help realize her talent," for example by announcing a children's chalk drawing contest on asphalt. The regional head also promised to direct the "zeal of the local authorities in the right direction."

The girl who drew Smeshariki on the playground was also defended by Russia’s human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova, who called on the authorities not to punish the girl.

The administration of the city of Bolokhovo in the Kireyevsky district also threatened administrative liability against those commenting on the situation online, since "some commenters resorted to insulting the administration."

The authorities also said they tried to wash off the drawing with water, but it only got worse. So the officials again urged the girl’s parents to "voluntarily eliminate the consequences."

🔵Earlier, the administration of the city of Bolokhovo published a VK post with photographs of Smeshariki characters drawn on the playground surface, as well as of a child who allegedly made these drawings. The authorities called the drawings damage to municipal property and threatened their author with criminal liability for vandalism and intentional property damage, and also said they had contacted the police.
