A court in Finland has ordered a review of the deportation case of Russians Olga and Nikita Belov, who helped Ukrainian refugees, The Guardian reports, citing the family’s lawyer.

The court overturned the immigration service’s decision denying them asylum, because the Russians “provided extensive new evidence” that they would be in danger in their homeland.

Olga and Nikita Belov are a mother and son from Russia who left for Finland after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to TV Rain, Belov left because of work on an “unnamed secret project” at the Bardin Central Research Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy. His superiors claimed the project had nothing to do with the war, but it soon turned out that this was not the case. In Finland, the Belovs applied for asylum, but were denied. Their deportation process began in April.
