The air in Tuapse is so saturated with smoke and soot that headaches come on quickly and eyes become inflamed. The beaches are flooded with petroleum products.

In the area around the Krasnaya Ploshchad shopping center, where Rosneft’s infrastructure and office are located, the soles of shoes stick to the asphalt because it is so heavily soaked with a mixture of soot and oil.

At the same time, Rospotrebnadzor insists that residents’ health is not under threat, while the mayor’s office promises to hold the tourist season in spite of everything.
