“Dawn Will Definitely Come.” Come to the presentation of our book and a letter-writing evening!
“Dawn Will Definitely Come” is a collection of letters sent to those who are currently being persecuted in Russia for political reasons. The book, prepared with the support of OVD-Info, shows how different letters to strangers can be. It also inspires people to start corresponding with political prisoners, even if you have never done so before.
At the presentation, OVD-Info legal aid coordinator Anna Sedova and project director Alexander Polivanov will talk about the collection itself and the story of its creation, and will also read letters from it aloud. All of this will make it possible to talk about how words helped and continue to help people who have ended up in prison.
💌 Also, the “You’ve Got Mail” event will take place that evening: everyone who comes will receive a real envelope with a letter from a political prisoner, taken from the book and other materials approved for publication. You will be able to write a reply to that same political prisoner or to any other one.
