In Tomsk Region, schoolchildren are being banned from wearing clothes with inscriptions in foreign languages.

At least two schools, in the village of Moryakovsky Zaton and the town of Kedrovy, have banned students from wearing clothes with inscriptions in foreign languages.

In their orders, the school administrations cite a directive from the Tomsk Region Education Department "On strengthening measures to prevent the spread of radicalization risks among children and youth."

In particular, the Kedrovy school document says that clothes with foreign-language inscriptions are banned "for the purpose of countering the propaganda of unlawful behavior, radicalization, and antisocial ideas."

An exception was made for inscriptions that are part of brands registered in Russia and do not contain "information that contradicts the legislation of the Russian Federation and the principles of universal human morality."
