The SBU said it found depleted uranium striking elements in the wreckage of a Russian missile

Ukrainian counterintelligence and SBU investigators said they recorded an elevated level of radiation on the wreckage of a missile that had been mounted on a Russian attack drone.

It is reported that the drone attacked the Chernihiv region on the night of April 7.

"Together with units of the State Emergency Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the SBU rendered the missile warhead safe and transported it to a radioactive waste storage site.

The results of the examinations established that the warhead of the Russian missile contains striking elements made of depleted uranium, identified as uranium-235 and uranium-238," the statement said.

SBU investigators said they had opened a pre-trial investigation.
